Union Buildings Pretoria

Enjoy this full-day Pretoria, Soweto and Apartheid Museum that will get you to know the history of South Africa. We will start things off in Pretoria city where we will do Pretoria tour and visit various places including Voortrekker Monument and get to learn about the history of the great trek.

We will then pass by the Kruger House Museum and get to know about these great Man. Our next stop will be Church square where will learn more about the significance of these place which also has the palace of Justice.

Our final stop will be Union buildings for some photo opportunities and also get to know more about this building. We will then head to Soweto Township for some Soweto tour where we will visit Mandela house museum and Hector Pieterson Museum with the apartheid history now in full swing.

Pretoria, Soweto and Apartheid Museum Tour will also give us an opportunity to taste some local delicacy at Sakhumzi Restaurant in Vilakazi Street. We will then drive off through the street of Soweto and pass by Regina Mundi Church and learn about the significance of these churches during apartheid.

We will also pass through Orlando towers before heading to Apartheid Museum for our final Apartheid Museum Tour.

Finish off things in Johannesburg Town passing through the famous Mandela Bridge and get a taste of downtown Johannesburg City.

Our full day Pretoria, Soweto and Apartheid Museum Tour will start on these Monument.

Voortrekker Monument is located on the northern part of Pretoria (Tshwane) and the history of the Afrikaner is situated in these famous Monument.

It is one of the most visited heritage Site in Gauteng and also forms a grade 1 national heritage site in Pretoria. It is also one of the things to do in Pretoria

Voortrekker Monument

Paul Kruger House Museum

Our second attraction on things to do in Pretoria will be the Paul Kruger House Museum located in Central Pretoria. This was the home of President Kruger and who also was the Boer leader.

We will spend about 15 minutes on these attractions and our tour guide will give us about the history of these Museum and its significance to the struggle of the Afrikaner.

We will move on to the third attraction on our Pretoria, Soweto and Apartheid Museum tour which will be the Church Square.

Paul Kruger House Museum

Church Square

Church Square also known as market Square is located at the heart of Pretoria central business district.

Its founder was Marthinus Pretorius wanted it to be used as a church yard and a market square.

The palace of justice stood at these square and these where Nelson Mandela was tried and eventually jailed. These forms the third attraction in things to do in Pretoria.

We will spend about 20 minutes on these square learning about the history of South Africa on our Johannesburg Day Tour.

Union Buildings

Our fourth stop on our Pretoria, Soweto and Apartheid Museum tour is the Union buildings which forms the office of the president and the official seat of the South African government.

Pretoria is the administrative Capital of South Africa and these building is landmark tourist attraction in South Africa.

We will spend about 30 Minutes here taking Photos and learning about the history of these place before heading back to Johannesburg for our next stop which happens to be the Apartheid Museum.

These forms our fifth stop on our Pretoria, Soweto and Apartheid Museum Tour.

Apartheid Museum has clear cut history on what happened during the Apartheid era in South Africa before freedom in 1994. The Museum is divided into 3 exhibitions which all have Valuable information on the Apartheid History.

You will need about 2 hours on this museum and has a lot of recourses that will equip on the dark era in South Africa history.

Our sixth Stop in our Johannesburg Day Tour will be the famous Orlando Towers which is located at the heart of Soweto. We will take some photos and get a bit of history about these towers which also offers Bungee jumping facilities an also a restaurant called Chef Pozi is located on these Towers.

Hector Peterson Museum

Hector Pieterson is all about the youth uprising in 1976 when the youth had enough with the Bantu education. We will spend some 20 minutes learning about the history of these famous Museum.

There is even a holiday to commemorate the youth uprising, so these is one of the landmark visits not to be missed on our Day Tour.

These will be our 7th Stop on our historical Johannesburg Day Tour.

Vilakazi Street

Vilakazi Street located in Soweto is the heartbeat of Soweto Tourism. The road boasts two Nobel winning person Nelson Mandela House Museum and Tutu residence. The famous Sakhumzi restaurant is also locate on these Street.

Mandela House Museum

The Nelson Mandela National Museum, commonly called Mandela House was built in 1945. Nelson Mandela lived in the house from 1946.

Former South African President Nelson Rolihlahla Mandela and his family lived here from 1946 into the 1990’s. The house is located at number 8115 at corner of Vilakazi and Ngakane streets.

Mandela donated the house to the Soweto Heritage Trust (of which he was the founder) on 1 September 1997, to be run as a museum.
